Our programs feature a combination of theoretical classroom instruction and hands-on practical training. Since class size is limited to six, students enjoy one-on-one attention and frequent extended learning opportunities such as field trips, workshops and special demonstrations. Our School is the only school in the area to offer training in all of the major areas of hair removal and medical esthetics under one roof. Students can choose a course of study in laser hair removal, electrology, esthetics, advanced esthetics or any combination. The Rock Creek Laser & Esthetics Institute | Esthetics School | Cosmetology School | Laser Training ProgramOur Framework Courses “Esthetics I” and “Esthetics II” for the comprehensive foundation for a fulfilling career as an Esthetician and Skincare Specialist in the State of Colorado. “Esthetics I” is a State Approved License course and is the requirement for anyone who wants to take the Colorado State Board test, a requirement to work as an Esthetician or Skincare Specialist in the State of Colorado. This comprehensive course will teach you all the basics – and more!

The follow-on framework course “Esthetics II” offers in-depth exposure to a wide range of advanced techniques and including Reiki, Nutrition of the Skin, Reflexology, Vantuse (Lymphatic System) Massage, Essential Oils of the Skin, Microdermabrasion, Chemical Exfoliation, and Body Treatments.

ESTHETICS I Introductory Course

This Introduction to Esthetics (600 Hours/20 Credits) course is a State Approved course, which is the requirement for anyone who then wants to take the Colorado State Board test to get licensed as an Esthetician.*

OVERVIEW/CURRICULUM:

Study of State and Federal rules and regulations in sanitation and preparation for state boards will be a focus. Students may get their hands on training in the adjoined Medi Spa where you can work with actual clients. How to start your own business, sale, product info on a broad supply and demonstrations on the latest technology. Introducing LED light therapy, oxidation facial, medical/natural facial, reflexology and much more. Our own medical spa and laser clinic helps us add to your hands on knowledge. In our 20 credit (600 hour) esthetics courses we look at disinfection, sanitation, make-up, state board preparation, facial message, holistic/bamboo/stone facials, oxygen facials, skin analysis, eyebrow waxing, bikini waxing, underarm waxing, leg waxing, back waxing, and much more!

In addition, we offer introductions to some of the other areas Estheticians may encounter, such as botanical and medical spa treatments, dermafracking, HydraFacial, microdermabrasion/chemical peel introduction eyelash extensions, foot detox, teeth whitening, sunless spray tanning, Chinese pressure points as used in acupuncture, aromatherapy, and anatomy. We also look at other exfoliation methods including holistic and medical procedures as well as forms of hair removal including electrolysis, laser and waxing.

* NOTE: Some States (such as Florida) may recognize the coursework you receive here, against their State Board requirements. This varies by State – please check with your State’s requirements.

OBJECTIVE: The graduate should be able to acquire marketable theoretical and practical skills in esthetics and be prepared to take the State Licensing examination to gain an entry-level position.

DURATION: 600 classroom hours – of which 400 hours are on-site* and 200 hours are self-study on-site. 20 credits. *on-site can include internships or hands-on training at another qualified spa or facility or training-class (such as product training OK’d by us).

ESTHETICS II | Advanced Course (100 hours)

This Advanced Course to Esthetics course provides you with the credentials required for being a Paramedic Esthetician. The Advanced course includes: Reiki, Nutrition of the Skin, Reflexology, Vantuse Massage, Essential Oils of the Skin, Microdermabrasion, Chemical Exfoliation, Body Treatments.

OVERVIEW/CURRICULUM: This course is designed to provide students who have completed the Esthetics I course or who are licensed Estheticians with a comprehensive exposure to the full range of advanced services and treatments – including the marketing and business aspects, state regulations, sterilization and medical procedures, etc.

DURATION: Total: 100 Hours. The Advanced course includes: Reiki (8 hours), Nutrition of the Skin (8 Hours), Reflexology (8 Hours), Vantuse Massage (8 Hours), Essential Oils of the Skin (8 Hours), Microdermabrasion (14 Hours), Chemical Exfoliation (24 Hours), Body Treatments (16 Hours.)

PREREQUISITES: Students must either be licensed Estheticians or have completed the ESTHETICS I coursework.

They are created for practicing estheticians or those who want to further their knowledge in one of the specific subject areas.

Our Standalone Courses on a number of topics including Reiki, Nutrition of the Skin, Reflexology, Vantuse (Lymphatic System) Massage, Essential Oils of the Skin, Microdermabrasion, Chemical Exfoliation, and Body Treatments, offer Estheticians and other professionals (some courses require prerequisites) the ability to expand your knowledge base through in-depth academic coursework combined with hands-on training in the area relevant to the course.

Chemical Exfoliation | 3-Day Course

OVERVIEW/CURRICULUM: The Chemical Resurfacing Certification Training course provides a comprehensive treatment overview and theory sessions followed by technique demonstrations including hands on clinical training. State requirements, safety, sanitation and sterilization, types of chemical peels, techniques, processes and protocols will be covered.

OBJECTIVE: The course is designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of the theory, safety and practical application of Chemical Resurfacing in the State of Colorado.

DURATION: This 3-day (24-credit hours) course taught on-location at the Rock Creek Laser & Esthetics Institute.

PREREQUISITES: Students must either be licensed Estheticians or have completed the ESTHETICS I coursework.

Dermaplaning | 4 Hours (1 day course)

OVERVIEW/CURRICULUM: This one-day (4-hour) certification course in Dermaplaning provides a comprehensive treatment overview and theory session followed by technique demonstration. Students have the opportunity to practice hands on. Dermaplanig is an advanced exfoliation method in which dead skin cells are removed through the use of surgical blades. This method requires skills and training but can easily boost your revenue without the cost of expensive equipment. Not only does this procedure remove the stratum corneum and vellus hairs, but it also increases product penetration. It can be performed alone or combined with other treatments for optimal results.

OBJECTIVE: Upon completion of the course students will be qualified and certified to perform Dermaplaning in the State of Colorado.

DURATION: This 1-day course taught on-location at the Rock Creek Laser & Esthetics Institute.

PREREQUISITES: Students must either be licensed Estheticians or have completed the ESTHETICS I coursework.

Electrolysis (120-hour course OR 600-hour intensive course) | 3 or 15-Week Course

Topics of Study:

  • Electrolysis equipment (needle/probe electrolysis) usage and safety
  • Skin and hair growth cycles
  • The circulatory and endocrine systems
  • Re-treatment and post-treatment care
  • Sanitation, sterilization, hygiene and basic bacteriology
  • Intensive “hand-on” practice in electrolysis treatment techniques
  • Marketing and small business management
  • Client management and professional ethics

OVERVIEW/CURRICULUM: We offer two levels of state approved Electrolysis training: A 120-hour program and a 600-hour licensing program. Both courses cover similar topics, with the licensing program offering greater depth of knowledge and significantly more hands-on practical training. We provide needle electrolysis hair removal training and certification in the blend method (the most common method). We also touch lightly on the galvanic and thermolysis methods of electrolysis hair removal. Students learn on the Gentronics Epilator electrolysis machine. It has a multi-needle attachment, which is a method that can clear larger areas faster.Students completing the short course are qualified to seek employment in the medical spa industry in Colorado (Colorado does not currently require that electrologists receive a license in the state). Students completing the full course are qualified to take the state electrology-licensing exam in most states that do in fact require 600 hours of training. The course includes a mix of classroom taught courses, correspondence and online-coursework.

PREREQUISITES: Students must either be licensed Estheticians or have completed the ESTHETICS I coursework.

Essential Oils in Skin Care | 8 Hours (1-day course)

OVERVIEW/CURRICULUM: The Essential Oils in Skin Care course educates students on how to incorporate essential oils or complimentary medicine” into daily treatments. Students will learn the benefits of a variety of oils and their aromatic, topical, or internal uses. We will make lotions, skin care and facial products that have the ability to enlighten one”s mood and add a whole new tone to your treatments.

OBJECTIVE: The course is designed to provide students with an understanding of how essential oils in skincare, the knowledge of oils as well as safety and precautions in the use of essential oils in skincare.

DURATION: This 1-day course is taught on-location at the Rock Creek Laser & Esthetics Institute.

Eyelash Extensions | 6 Hours (1 day course)

OVERVIEW/CURRICULUM: The 6-hour Eyelash Extension Certification course trains on fundamental and comprehensive eyelash extensions on how to apply eyelash extensions, techniques, sanitation and sterilization methods, and business development training. The students have the opportunity to practice hands on.

OBJECTIVE: The course is designed to provide students with an understanding of how to safely perform eyelash extensions.

DURATION: This 1-day course taught on-location at the Rock Creek Laser & Esthetics Institute.

PREREQUISITES: Students must either be licensed Estheticians or have completed the ESTHETICS I coursework.

Facial Lymph Massage | 8 Hours (1 day course)

OVERVIEW/CURRICULUM: The 8-hour Facial Lymph Drainage Certification Training course provides a comprehensive treatment overview and theory session followed by technique demonstration. Techniques, sanitation and sterilization, contraindications, client consultation and business development training will be covered. The students have the opportunity to practice hands on.

OBJECTIVE: The course is designed to provide students with an understanding of how to safely perform Facial Lymph Massage.

DURATION: This 1-day course taught on-location at the Rock Creek Laser & Esthetics Institute.

Injectables | 16-Hours (2-Day Course)

OVERVIEW/CURRICULUM: The 16-hour Injectable Certification training course provides a comprehensive treatment overview and theory session followed by technique demonstration including hands on clinical training. State requirements (Rule “800”), safety, sanitation and sterilization, types of injectables, techniques, processes and protocols will be covered.

OBJECTIVE: The course is designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of the theory, safety and practical application of Injectables.

DURATION: This 2-day course taught on-location at the Rock Creek Laser & Esthetics Institute.

Microdermabrasion | 14 Hours (2 day course)

OVERVIEW/CURRICULUM: The 14-hour Microdemabrasion Certification training course provides a comprehensive treatment overview and theory session followed by technique demonstration.
